WHY TO DO LISTS ARE HELPFUL

I start each day with a to-do list. It could have as much as 10 items on it, or as few as five. And I’ve experienced so many benefits from this life-saving practice, such as:
  •  To-do lists help me to stay focused because they enable me to keep track of my dreams and goals. If my dreams and goals are a big watermelon, then my daily to-do list would be like cutting it into small chunks of digestible pieces.
  • Writing a to-do list is a practice that brings my dreams closer and makes them more practical. Having a to-do list helps to keep me more focused, as it works as an external reminder of my goals and tasks that I need to perform in order to achieve those big goals.
  • A to-do list also makes me accountable for the promises that I make to myself, and there’s no better feeling than ticking off as many tasks as possible on my list.  Now that's what I call productivity!
DOWNSIDE
Hard as I try, I’m not always able to complete the items on my to-do list and that’s something that I used to feel bad about.

But these days I just do my best and give my all to each task, and if at the end of the day, there are some tasks that I haven’t completed, I just know that they just weren’t meant to be completed on that particular day.

I just cross them over to the next day’s to do list and do them first thing in the morning so that they don’t get overlooked the second time around.

HOW-TO
I often keep a dedicated diary, journal, or just a clear book that’s dedicated to my daily to-do list.

Things I include in my to-do list
  • A list of my goals for the day and the tasks that I need to complete in order to realize those goals.
  • Daily income and expenditure. Keeping a daily record of income and expenditure has taught me a lot about myself and my spending habits. This is especially important as an entrepreneur because the money you make comes in at an unpredictable flow. So keeping track of my finances daily keeps me disciplined and accountable.

TO WRAP UP
A to do list is an expression of the small daily steps that I take towards realizing my dreams and goals. It’s an easy, efficient, and inexpensive record-keeping system.
So if you haven’t started yet, I'd definitely advise anyone to have a to-do list. You'll thank yourself for it.

The Ebb and Flow: How To Create a Life of Balance as an Entrepreneur or Artist

Today I’m reflecting on what it means to live a life of ‘freedom’ as an entrepreneur or an artist. Ever hear that saying, ‘With great power comes great responsibility?” Well, I like to say, ‘with great freedom comes great responsibility’.  That's because being an entrepreneur places you in a unique position of freedom and self-determination. It gives you more power over your life than you would have if you were working for someone else.  It also means that you’re responsible for your time and productivity. You get to measure your own success by setting your own goals and standards for your work. So it can get pretty tricky trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t, and oftentimes you just have to learn through trial and error.   Over time, you learn to balance productivity and self-care.  Because as  important as it is to get out there and network, create strategies and do all that's necessary to bring your vision to life; it's equally important to take care o

BOOK REVIEW: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

If you’re a writer, a singer, a poet, a model, or any type of creative or visionary then you simply HAVE to read this book. I devoured it in under two days, and it has completely changed my life.   In The War of Art, Steven Pressfield, (acclaimed author of The Legend of Bagger Vance), shares his insights on overcoming what he calls “resistance”.  What is resistance?  It's that small little voice inside your head and that emotion in your chest that prohibits you from practicing your art. It’s what writers call “the block” and public speakers know as “stage fright”, and so it goes.    Basically, resistance is what prohibits millions of people from following their dreams and sharing their gifts with the world, out of fear of being judged or ostracised or whatever. It is that barrage of excuses that stops millions of people from realizing their greatness for fear of failure.  It’s that little voice in your head that convinces you to go on Instagram and YouTube “for just a few minutes

What is Breathwork? All You Need to Know About This Cutting-edge Practice

The term ‘breathwork’ is all the rage right now, with things like Kriya and Prana yoga becoming mainstream, not to mention the ever-popular Wim Hof breathing method . But, what is breathwork exactly?   Simply put, it’s a series of exercises, programs and techniques designed to enhance your conscious awareness of the breathing process (inhale and exhale) so that you can get the most out of it.   Breathwork exercises work by promoting deep and focused breathing for a certain period of time. Most people perform breathwork techniques and exercises in order to improve their mental health, their spiritual well-being and even to strengthen the mind-body connection. Breathwork has also been shown to increase energy and promote a deep sense of calm and relaxation.  While there are many different forms of breathwork, it’s really all about conscious breathing. Most of us take breathing for granted and we don’t really consider the effects of breathing properly on our health.   If you’re looking
